K.D. Finnegan's journey into the world of reading and writing poetry ignited a spark that blossomed into her debut children's book, Silly Me. Her path was illuminated by her experiences as an Alumni of the Community Literature Initiative (CLI) in Los Angeles, a vibrant poetry publishing workshop where she carefully crafted Silly Me. Now, she dances towards finishing her poetry collection, Temple of Peace: A Journey of Healing Trauma in Poetry & Prose, a testament to her love for words and her passionate faith in recovery and healing.

Her academic achievements include a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Services from Springfield College in Manchester, N.H., alongside her understudies in Early Childhood Education and Criminal Justice. This strong educational foundation supports her diverse professional career, which spans advocating for individuals with disabilities, standing against domestic violence, managing behavioral health, and trauma Healing Coaching.

Beyond her professional pursuits, K.D. passionately desires to illuminate the path for others, urging them to embrace their true, silly selves. As a survivor of domestic abuse and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), her artistic writing serves as a powerful exploration of healing from childhood trauma, toxic relationships, codependency, and grief.
